The Base 5 Guard Tactical Response Unit is a specialised team that responds to violent crime and focusses on so-called ‘red zones’ and crime hot spots. We are comprised of experienced members from the Police & Military force.

By reason of our protective equipment & specialised training, the Tactical Response Unit provides a formidable back-up to their colleagues engaged in work in potentially hazardous environments. Tactical Response Unit carries the same authority as any other law enforcement officer but their focus is on emergency situations.

We also perform specialised functions at large events hosted around South Africa. All staff engaging in operations are licensed and regulated by the South African Private Security Industry.
